CSKA Sophia Gardens today confirmed the news that youthful central midfielder Caleb Arthur had departed the club.

Arthur joined the club before the Covid-19 pandemic hit and became a popular member within the team as he was considered a young brother type of character with his fellow players.

The physical midfield man gained a reputation for not shirking the brutal battles in the middle of the park with some of the club's toughest opponents. His departure has meant that he won't get to fulfil the potential that the management committee saw in him when he first signed.

CSKA Manager Steve Day said "I always had a lot of time for Caleb. He was a young lad who was learning more with every training session he attended and every game he played. He faced a tough fight for a regular start in the centre of the pitch with so many talented individuals vying for starts alongside him but he never ducked a challenge.

Day continued "It's a shame to see him leave but we part ways with fond memories and wish him all the best with his future endeavours."

Arthur made 2 starts and 4 substitute appearances during his spell with the club. He also picked up one three star award during that time.
