CSKA Announce Billings Departure

CSKA Sophia Gardens have officially announced the departure of central midfielder Dom Billings this week.

The cultured midfield man confirmed with club staff that he was set to move away from Cardiff and will therefore be unable to play a part within the playing squad this season.

Club manager Steve Day said "It's with great sadness that we have to confirm that Dom is leaving for pastures new ahead of this upcoming season and new chapter in the club's history. I never had the privilege of being manager during Dom's time with the club so didn't get the chance to work with him in that respect. However, I frequently trained with him and played with him a number of times in friendly games. It was clear he was a player who was very technically gifted."

Day added "We wish him all the best with the next stage of his life and it's a shame that he will no longer be involved with the club. A combination of work commitments and injuries prevented him from being involved as much as he would have liked during his time here but he still managed to leave a positive impression on all of us."

Billings made two competitive appearances for the club after signing during the 2018/19 season.
