CSKA Confirm Williams Signing

CSKA Sophia Gardens have officially confirmed the signing of versatile player Huw Williams.

The new arrival has been involved with the club in an unofficial capacity for a while now having played 5 a side and ventured out on social events with the players due to his friendship with current CSKA player Sam Byrne.

Manager Steve Day announced the signature of Williams this week stating "We would like to welcome Huw to the fold. It's a transfer that's probably been a long time coming due to his close affinity with a number of players within this team.

"Huw has shown during his playing time with us during the off-season that he is a physically dominant and committed player who has the ability to cover a range of positions. It'll be interesting to see how he develops within this team over the coming season."

Williams is the first incoming transfer for CSKA Sophia Gardens ahead of the 2021/22 season. Day is remaining tight-lipped on the prospect of more new additions coming in before the start of the new season.

He added "We are always looking to improve the squad but we also appreciate the cracking group of players we have involved. We will only look to bring in fresh faces if spaces within the squad allow. There has been interest from people outside of the team in getting involved. The management committee and I will see who is still committed and keen when pre-season training starts next month and make some decisions from there."
