CSKA Sophia Gardens will officially participate in the 2021/22 season of the Cardiff Combination League, it has been confirmed.

The Dragons will finally end their year-long stint away from competitive football by moving from playing on a Sunday in the Lazarou Cardiff Sunday Football League and competing in the Saturday league pyramid.

CSKA Manager Steve Day said "I'm delighted to have seen the club accepted into the Cardiff Combination League. We have heard fantastic things about this league that boasts over 70 years of history and it's an honour to be involved in the upcoming campaign. It's been 10 years since the formation of this club and it'll be a brilliant way to mark our tenth year in existence by starting a new chapter."

Day added "We look forward to having confirmation from the Welsh Government and Football Association of Wales to allow us to get back to playing football so we can prepare for this new and exciting challenge as soon as possible. The majority of the squad from our Sunday team will make the switch to the Saturday and we will provide updates on our preparations as and when they occur. Samo CSKA!"
