CSKA Sophia Gardens striker Cai Mckenzie was awarded with the September Player of the Month award at the monthly awards night held at the Halfway Hotel in Llandaff.

The monthly awards are making their return to the CSKA social calendar for the first time since... well, we don't have an exact date of the last one but the original Player of the Month trophy has been re-covered with cobwebs on!
Mckenzie stormed to the top of the scoring charts for the season with a triumphant period at the beginning of the club's Cardiff Combination League Phase 1 Group B campaign.
Goal of the Month was won by centre back Owen Lewis for his last minute winner against Cathays United back on Thursday 9th September which CSKA won by a 2-1 score-line.
The notorious Brown Ale Moment of the Month made a welcome return to the monthly awards process. There were plenty of worthy candidates but the eventual winner was striker James Joyce for his calamitous moment when he suggested that the club's nickname should be changed to "The Scholars" because we are an "intelligent bunch of lads". Needless to say, he was laughed out of the pub at the time.
